I love to dance for the still camera.....it is an art form in and of itself....

Layouts....a series.....
San Francisco photographer Weiferd Watts was one of the guiding lights of my dance career. He endeared himself to me forever when he came up to me after a ballet class when I was 17, asked if I was with American Ballet Theater and if he could photograph me. We worked together from that day until his untimely death in 2010. The three photos below are from my all time favorite shoot, in a fantastic tutu by LA designer Adele Satori on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, taken that same year.
I was honored to dance Kitri's variation in a gala (starring the late great Robin Williams.) I didn't get performance pictures, but Weiferd and I borrowed the dress (on loan from Smuin Ballet and with Joanna Berman's name inside!) and took it on the town.
Weiferd loved the bunkers near the Golden Gate bridge as well and had a famous box series. I must have shot 100 pictures with him, freezing my butt off. Here are a few from over the years, at the bunkers and a few other places in San Francisco....
